I could be wrong, but I don't think they make a scatter shield for the 6-speed F-body's yet ??

You are very right. They dont make one. There are trans blankets that you can use though...but thats the only option us 6-speed guys have right now.

96SilverRam, please shorten the sig up a bit. We ask that you keep it around 5 lines or so. You really need some of the free web page space offered here

Thanks!

Here is the link for McLeod's website. It does say that you have to buy their conversion kit to change our pull style clutch to a push style in order for it to work. It is on page 6, modular bellhousing.

Check around... I ran a blanket for an automatic that had been modified to fit around my stock bell housing. Funny thing was, no one ever checked it. I sold it when I sold the whole T56/Street Twin to someone for a conversion. I t-h-o-u-g-h-t someone started making a blanket type shield......

And yes, the McLeod universal bell housing is SFI-rated. Surprised that you have to revise the clutch, although that might be as simple as swapping in a T56 from an LS1. Would be a shame to have to do so much work just to meet the requirements of one track.

Wonder what "taner" has on his M6, running mid-9's ??

I'm looking into the McLeod modular bellhousing right now because I have gear ratios in my shiny new T56 I'd like to keep, and an LS1-style T56 would eliminate them.

I'd also like to keep my feet and legs in the event of any type of flywheel or clutch catastrophe, so the fact that it is SFI-approved is nice.

Plus there's the added bonus of eliminating the slave cylinder by converting to a hydraulic throw-out bearing, which will allow me to run long tubes (hopefully) in my fairly limited space available, and solve the problem of how to adapt an LT1-style slave to an aftermarket master cylinder reliably.

The kit apparently doesn't use any spacers when used with an LT1 T56. The LS1 T56 has a longer input shaft and would require a spacer, though. I haven't found anyone else who has used one yet, either.

It's a problem that hopefully the McLeod piece will solve. The issue is the flywheel more than tranny, so the "bulletproof" comment is kind of off the mark. A flywheel explosion is not pretty and the stock aluminum bellhousing would be no protection.
