need opinions on this engine combo

I am currently building a 355 lt1 to swap into a 86 z28. Now heres the combo- please let me know if there will be piston to valve clearance issues.
355 lt1
speed pro forged pistons
Lloyd elliot stage 2 heads with 202/160 valves and cam
1.6 rockers
5.7 in scat connecting rods.
stock height comp cam hi tech pushrods
cloyes double roller

now the heads were originally on motor for 4k miles and i had brake issues so b4 i put them on new rebuild i am getting the valves checked out. When i tore the motor apart, there was no sign of piston to valve clearance but the car had major brake issues. The engine is going into a 6 spd car so that should take care of that.

and what rings and cam bearings would u guys reccommend. the front cam bearing looks like crap after only 4k miles. I was thinking about coated durabonds and plasma moly rings.

FM bearings always worked before... why change it up? Rings could be sealed power if you are on a budget. Do you intend on running n2o or FI? That makes a difference.

Mogul bearings and sealed power rings are perfect for your combo.

"the car had major brake issues"

Ok so was it related to idle vacuum? IS that what you are talking about with the brake issues?

If so check for vacuum leaks, set the rockers to zero preload or just barely a little preload and on top of that you want to have the idle set around 900rpm.

Check for leaks then, that cam without leaks and the proper valve adjustment (around zero lash) will produce more than enough brake vacuum for you. It's usually something dumb like a TB gasket leak.
