need idea's on next mods...tune?
I'm looking for idea's on what would be some good mod's to do next. Current mod's in sig...
I was going to get a 58mm TB but i've read that the gains are very minimal. Also thinking about an electric wp, but i don't know if that's such a good idea considering I drive my car a considerable amount of miles each day.
The main upgrade i've been thinking of doing is a custom pcm tune....but i'm planning on a cam install this winter so it would probably be best to wait, right???
Suspension was a recent thought but i'd like to put a little more power to the ground before i move on to the LCA's, etc...
Share some of your thought's guy's...
Thanks,
Adam

Thanks for the replies fellas...
How exactly would I go about getting a mail order tune? I know absolutely nothing about it so any info would be very appreciated.

Suspension mods are always good, but since this is in engine tech I'll say 1.6 RR's, E-WP, or ASP 34% Crank Replacement Pulley. I can tell you I felt more SOTP gain from the E-WP than 1.6 RR's. But both are great mods.

I agree. The suspension mods I did made the car feel completly different when driving. Looking back I wish I would have done them first. I would recomend LCAs, Panhard rod and subframe connectors. An ajustable torque arm is a great mod too.
But if your looking for more HP, a tune would be a good idea. I personally use PCMforless, ther are other good mail order tuners on this site also. Its very simple, all you have to do is send them your PCM, tell them what mods you have and they will reflash the PCM for yoru application.

The throttle body will also help out some.
Granted, the peak power might not increase, but throttle response and tip-in will improve greatly. My car really perked up with just a 52mm TB.
Plus the bigger throttle body will help the car breath better for the cam you're planning to install later.
The tune will help you for sure, but if you're planning a cam in a few months, I wouldn't bother. Unless you have a laptop, cable and can load the tune yourself, then do a mail order tune and get a low-cost update later.
The suspension is a great idea too.
I would wait on the water pump until you do the cam install since the water pump has to come off anyway, no sense in doing it twice, right?

Re: need idea's on next mods...
Well, I think right now i'm going to invest in the following mods...LCA's, SFC's, PHR, TA, and possibly an aluminum DS. I'm also going to look into a tune but i'm not sure if i'm going to do that right away or not...
I'm going to start collecting parts for the cam install also such as the electric wp, 1.6 rockers, timing set, etc.
Thanks for the input everyone!

Re: need idea's on next mods...
Bersaglieri,
Can you tell me more about the E-WP, or ASP 34% Crank Replacement Pulley.
I have heard the E-WP do not cool well and do not have the appropriate pressure and reliability for a car that you would be driving everyday? also how was the install?
Also tell me about the power gain from the crank replacement and what MFG and where you got it and what you paid. also how was the install?
If it's not to much to ask.

I wouldn't bother with an aluminum DS, since you're an M6 car, you're going to shock-load parts more than an auto car would. That will make it easier to twist the driveshaft. If I were you, I'd invest in a good steel DS.
