need help with surges at low rpms
i just installed a new waterpump, a new optispark, and had done plugs and wires a few weeks before on a '96 Z28. Car runs great and even sounds louder and meaner than ever before, and its still stock except for a cold air kit. However, at low rpms, car seems to surge, stumble a little bit until i give her a lil more gas then shes fine again and pulls hard. Im thinking its 1 of 2 things, or both.... 1: when doin the waterpump, i decided to leave the car without a thermostat until i can get a 160 stat. whats the best place to get one? im in florida right now. 2: i know i should replace the fuel filter, and i have a new one, but have yet to install it. Could my problem be any of those things? Or something else im overlooking? Also, any1 know how to install the damn fuel filter?
surge
1. replace the fuel filter i beleave you need a fuel line disconect for the one side you can pick them up at any autozone the other side is a wrench(not sure of what size) before you start remove gas cap will take pressuer off of the fuel system. 2.try a local parts house napa or such if not try summit or T bryne 3.Check for any vaccum leaks it has the same symptoms
