I had the same problem with my Pacesetter LT's. Turns out the egr flange, that's welded to the tube that connects to the header, is welded in at the wrong angle. I've heard of guys bending the egr tube out toward the fender liner a little bit and getting the clearance they need. I just cut mine off, welded it shut and put block off plates in and did away with the egr all together.
mine wouldnt come off of my manifolds when i put my mac mids on (now switched for pacesetter LTs), so i just sawed it and blocked off the EGR on the drivers side.. the other side is sitting on the manifold.. which is sitting on the sideyard..
wow im surprised no one had any luck with it. i eventually got mine to bolt up, i just had to fanagle with it for a while. I think I might have bolted the EGR up before i tightened the header down. either way, its connected right now... doesnt leak that i know of.
My car is an automatic and the problem I had was the EGR tube wouldn't line up with the flange on the header because it was hitting the tranny dipstick. I ended up pulling the header, heating the flange with a torch, and bending it an inch in the direction of the firewall. Problem solved.
