Need help figuring out some codes
I got my car scanned today, since the SES light was on again. Well, codes I got were P0300, P0137, and P1133. I know what the P0300 code is (Random Mult Misfire, and the P0137 (02 Bank 1 high is that lean or rich?) But the P1133 I don't know what it is. And how it popped up. Any help would be great, thanks.
Re: Need help figuring out some codes
P0137 = Heated O2 sensor Bank 1, Sensor 2 "low".
That means the driver's side, after-cat O2 sensor is stuck with a voltage reading below 40mV. Either a faulty sensor, or something is pouring air into the exhaust.
P1133 = Bank 1, Sensor 1 Too few switches between rich and lean
Driver's side pre-cat O2 sensor is "slowing down".... possibly because of old age or contamination.
The fact that both the sensors with problems are on the drivers side may indicate something is affecting them. For the after-cat sensor, swap the two after-cat sensors left-to-rigth. If the problem follows the sensor, its a sensor problem. If the problem stays on the driver's side, its a cat problem or something affecting the exhaust on the drivers side.
The slow down on the pre-cat sensor probably means its dieing. Any chance you used non-sensor safe RTV, leaded fuel, etc.

Re: Need help figuring out some codes
Hmm... I don't have rear 02's, so maybe one of my sims is messed up. I'll try and change the front 02 here in a little bit and see what happens... i didn't use any RTV that I know of that could hurt it, and I don't run leaded, but that sensor is only maybe 9 months old. I put new ones in right after the 383 went in...
Re: Need help figuring out some codes
Look to the ignition on the drivers side for the cause. Since you have a 300 AND you have a switching problem on the O2 on that side, it could be running rich on that side from misfiring and that may have caused the demise of the O2.
If that is the case, check the oil right away for fuel contamination. You can find a possible misfire with an inductive timing light. The misfire may show up in the flash pattern.
