Need help with cam selection

I have all the mods in sig, and am going to get heads thinking about going with Lloyd Elliot, but am looking for the most hp i can sqeeze out without having to change converter and must have excellent street manners as this car is going to be a daily driver. Any recommendations on cams would be appreciated. And one more question what is an LSA and what does changing the LSA effect?

you see what i have runs great everybody loves the sound the performance is great if running a stock converter may have a little cam surge at the red light but shouldnt be bad

lsa lobe seperation angle
mine is 112 gives you a fair lope good power curve
110 more lope little more power but higher rpm for peak hp
114 less lope little less power lower rpm for peak hp

as far as cam selection; as long as you have good valvesprings you can run a pretty big lift. ex. i'm running 555 hve had no prob. you may can run a little bigger maybe someone else has tried it

i feel 112 lsa is pretty drivable i realize i have a stall but i dont beleive you need it its pretty bumpy but smooths out right off idle

i highly recomend this cam for a driver

Check out Cmotorsports they just came out with a bunch of new cam options. If your car is for the most part a daily driver I would recommend something like the 224/230 XE cam from comp as the largest for street use. IMO anything bigger and the car gets undesireable to drive daily.

my xe224/230-112lsa with Lloyd Elliot heads and stock converter with 3.73 gears and pcmforless tuning had lots of surge below 2K rpm. it felt slower than stock from 1500-2800 and then it would put you back in the seat from 3K redline.in my opinion i wouldnt go any bigger than this on a stock stall, its almost unbearable cruising around town unless your turning 2500 rpm.
but remember thats just my opinion

hotcam?

It sounds to me that you would like something around the size of a hotcam. Im not sure exactly what the numbers are for the hotcam but it wouldnt be easy to find. If its not ground on a 114 LSA you could easily get a custom grind on the 114 to increase driveability. but being so reluctive to change converters is kinda working against you, you'll appreciate your cam much more. actually you'll appreciate your whole car much more with a 2800 stall. just my .02
