Need help with cam kit (springs/lifters/timing chain)

My car has a sprung a leak on a front seal and i while the front end is being torn apart, I'd like to take the oppurtunity to put a cam in there.

I am going to go with the cc305 or hotcam. I am going to keep my stock rocker arms for the time being. I dont race so i'm not worried about making the most power. I just want a lopey idle and more power uptop without sacrificing drivability. I'll never run the car over 6000rpms.

1. I know LT4 springs marginal when used with the hotcam at .525 lift but with my 1.5 rockers i will be running .492 lift. I shoulndt run into any problems there. Does anyone think there would be an issue using them with the cc305? Its rated at .510 on both the intake and exhaust. I also dont know about other factors that may come into play such as seat pressure.

2. My car has 107,000 miles on it so it would probably be a good time to swap lifters. What out there is recommended and how much am i looking at spending. I have a buddy with a set of used LS1 lifters, 12,000 miles on them for $50. I was thinking about getting those...

3. Timing chain. What are most people running? Would a stock replacement work well for me?

Thanks!

My timing chain had ~35k on it, I figured I could get away without changing it.
When we got it off, we found that it had enough play to rick back and forth abour 4*.
I'd invest in a new one at 107k if I were you.
At least check it before you bolt it al back together.

Alright, sounds good. I hope the gears are in good shape and i can get away with just a chain.

Any advice out there on lifters, or a set of valve springs i could run other than the LT4's that wont break the bank with either of these cams?
