having heads and cam put in, the person putting them in said that the crane guideplates I bought will not fit, he said the was told that the comp and crane guideplates were for the older sbc's. but I was told by summit that these were for the LT1, he says he has a set of gm ones for sale. is he right? thanks for the help.

GM plates are the only ones that work with stock heads.

 

okay thanks..no I don't have the part number on me, they are with the car in Joplin getting put together..

 

Use GM p/n 14011051 or adjustable guideplates.

 

Why won't the comp cams 4808-8 guideplates work? They look the same and Summit says they're for the LT1, not that they're always right about anything, I just want to know. Thanks.

EDIT: The guys over at comp even said that they were correct. Any ideas???
