Exclamation Need Dual Exhaust Help

I am putting a 2.5 inch x-pipe dual system on my car this week. Before I get it done, I would like some idea/suggestions on what to do about the tranmission brace/crossmember. My 3 in custom y-pipe is just kinda bent down below it but hinders my ground clearance with it being the lowest point.
I would like to know what you guys with the dual setup have did about this.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks,,
Nick

AFAIK most guys leave the crossmember as it is...you just going to have to sacrifice some clearence...

I take it your talking about the pipe hitting the lip of the cross member! On mine I took of the brace and took a hacksaw, and cut off about three or four inches right down to the flat plate part, it only took a second, even though its pretty thick steel, then sprayed with paint. I was able to move the exhaust pipe another half inch or so higher. I originally left it as was stock, but eventually craved more clearance and re did the exhaust after cutting it up. Are you planning on doing this yourself or a shop? If you do it yourself watch for the torque arm as it move when just the front of the car is off the ground. I made the mistake of doing just that, and even though I welded the pipes right up againt the arm after lowering the car it was like 2 inches from it. So its better to have all four tires off the ground, or if your skinny like me just squeeze under there to tack it up so its right.
