ok - so this is on the passenger side of my 1997 z28 LT1 (w/automatic transmission in case that's relevant here). as you can see in the picture, there's a fitting that seems to want something connected to it but i've no idea what. what is this part, and what is supposed to go to that rubber elbow? i don't have any stray hoses/tubes, unless something is hooked up to the wrong thing somewhere else. i looked through shoebox's reference site, and i may have missed it but i don't see it anywhere.
That is the vacuum detection switch for the EVAP purge system. If you are concerned about the short hose coming off the bottom, that is a “vent” and does not get connected to anything.
