My plan to get my car tuned properly - will it work? Is there a better way?
My plan to get my car tuned properly - will it work? Is there a better way?
I had my 95 Z28 LT1 Motor rebuilt after 157K Miles. 383 stroker, stage 2 head port, new CAM, etc. My problem is that the guy that was going to tune it after the rebuild bailed out. So it runs (poorly) with the original 24 lbs injectors. I found a guy in Camarillo that will dyno tune my car. My builder is about 35 miles away. I need to have him put the new 42.5 lbs injector and fuel pump in before I dyno tune the car and get the car to the dyno tune place 35 miles away. My plan is to get either LT1 edit or tunercat.
1) Which program’s algorithm is “better” for the table rebuild when you simply tell the program about the new fuel injector size and cylinder size?
2) Would this change to the PCM be good enough to get the car from one shop to the other?
3) Are there some other “easy” changes to make to the baseline PCM program for my new CAM?
I dumped my PCM to a LT1 file, converted it to a BIN file and used datamaster to record a run. If anybody is interested in this data, send me your email address.
Thanks in advance.
