My car wont go above 160*
My car wont go above 160*
its useful in the summer/when im at the track, but during the winter, my heat doesnt work for **** and my gas mileage is horrible...no matter what stat i have in there, if the car is in motion it will stay pegged at 160, it will heat up fine at idle but once i start moving it begins to plummet...i have the GMPP water pump which i believe is the main contributing factor...now my question, is there any way to somehow block the incoming air?...Or if theres a better suggestion please let me hear it
Are you basing this on the coolant temp gauge reading? If so, you may be mislead by the inconsistant markings on the 93 gauges. All the other years indicate the lower hashmark as 160*F. The 93's have this mismarked as 100*F, leading people to believe the engine is running a lot cooler than it really is. Check it with a scanner to see what the temp really is.

Good info Injuneer, my cars gauge sits like that no matter how I drive it. only time it goes up is when im in real heavy traffic. to original post, my car's heater doesnt work either. it usually takes more than 30 minutes before i feel a little heat, but that's no use becuase I never drive that long anyways.
Chris, I notice quite a significant difference depending on the temp. my car is driven in
Injuneer, Nope it sits right on the 2nd mark on the gauge, so i decided to borrow a fellow speed density's laptop to see if the gauge was faulty and no dice, it was spot on
