I think it will be pretty close. If the Vette has traction control, he'll probably get you off the line and hold you off. If not, then it's whoever drives better.
Launching with T/C on is a racing no-no. If you don't spank him there is something wrong with your car. I love corvettes, but in a street race or even a 1/4 mile you would take it. I've been in/driven many vettes and a stock ls1 vette is nothing special. If it was a stick I might reconsider and say it would be close but I think you'd still edge it out if your car was running good.

EDIT: Unless you have a manual valvebody or something, racing an auto after it's already launched (especially a stock power/tranny car) doesn't require any skill except keeping the wheel straight. If you pull it off the line, you will keep pulling.

They wont change your peak RWHP, but you will have higher average rwhp until you reach redline in final gear

significantly? i'm getting ready to do a gear swap now that i have my cam done. it doesn't seem a whole lot faster than stock but it also feels like the 2.73's are REALLY slowing me down now!

Most significant difference will be in first gear.

Second gear will feel faster but will also end quicker as you will reach redline (shift points) at lower speeds.
