Sheeeet I just paid $229 for a NEW GM opti complete from Jason Cromer

Meaning the diff between a cap & rotor & a complete unit is ....... $69.

Re: MSD has an opti for us?

I would have bought one if MSD offered a COMPLETE unit.

If my opti goes again I'll be going with an opti-less system.

I have a brand new 95vented opti that i am puting on my new motor, I am really thinking about installing the msd cover and rotor. Should work well with the msd 6al ignition.

The coils by themselves are not capable of multi spark discharge. You would have to add a DIS-4 to make them capable. These new LS1 coils are.

Another interesting thing about that MSD cap... Take a look at the photo and look towards the bottom of the cap. There's a vent on the bottom of the cap. Interesting to see how someone would use that on a 93-94, since there is no vacuum line on the actual distributor housing. More than likely though they just used the photo for the 95-97 opti on both the 93-94 and the 95-97 advertisements. Pretty interesting though, makes you wonder...

Re: MSD has an opti for us?

yeah but the 95+ style cap rotor still works on 93-94 opti, you'd just have to cap the vents or if you want you could vent it, it just doesn't have the same drive and vent on the opti section but you can still make a 93-94 a vented opti just by putting the vented cap on and drilling a hole in the opti and putting a plug/hose from there..
