MSD Digital 6 - Where to install?? - 1997 Firebird Formula

Where can the MSD digital 6 be installed in the engine compartment? I'm trying to keep it in the engine bay. I know that I need to buy the Wiring Harness #8877 from MSd to mate up with my car, but is there anything else I'm going to need?

Thanks,

CCRJON

I mounted mine right where the fuel lines come into the bay. Be sure an mount it upside down, so you can get to the controls. You'll have to remove the plastic retaining clip and move the lines over, but other than that, it will fit there.

I put mine on the DS fenderwell, behind the fusebox. It fits well, but I only use 3 of the mounting holes.
I did use the wiring harness, its worth $20 to be to be able to plug the thing in in 2 minutes. Be perpared to extend the power leads. I ran mine along the front of the radiator (with the existing wiring harness in tubing) to the + lug and the battery - terminal

If you don't mind me asking, what is the exact purpose of these MSD ignition boxes? My dad wants to put one in, 6AL i believe? But I don't know if I should let him or not in my 95 z28. Is it worth going for one of these boxes?

With the Digital 6 it can be used with NOS. The MSD 6AL doesn't do much and won't gain any horsepower. They claim it will improve gas mileage.

For the mods you have, I wouldn't waste my money on the MSD. Take the $300.00 and save it for mods that will make horsepower or help your car hook.

PS-There is a five line limit on sigs.

When you hit a certain MPH your windows role up automatically. Pretty cool. I prefer my manual windows. Don't have to replace my windows motors at all.

I crawled under the front of my car. removed the trianglular shaped piece of plastic in front of the drivers side wheel. I mouted the MSD on top an blted it back in place. If you running a FIPK or Moroso CAI watch for clearance issues.

snakeater; I guess you're referring to the pic I sent. The window switch is used to turn on and off a device. In my case its the N2O, it wont switch on untill 3k, and shuts it down at 6k. you use "pills" to change the desired settings. Love the windows roll up thing
