MrGasket problems

Ive gone through 2 sets of MrGasket ultraseal head gaskets p/n 5716.

The problem is they havent even touched my engine yet... they peel apart as I'm opening the pack! On one set almost all the black peeled off the top headgasket and in my newer one there was still some peeling off, particularly around the portion of the headgasket that does the actual sealing.
Is this supposed to happen? Are these even good headgaskets to use?
I didn't want to go with fel-pros because the difference in compression ratio is 3/10ths of a point (10.7:1 vs 10.4:1) and I want to get the engine as close to 11:1 as possible.
I still have the two gaskets that were on the bottom that are both in decent condition, though one seems to be chewed up a bit on the side. Not sure if I should use these two or not.

Any suggestions?

the thing on top is the package. This is the one that was stored for a while.

the packaging is peeled off to the right, the top gasket in the package is sitting below. Not as bad as the first one but still peeled off some.

Re: MrGasket problems

Doesn't seem like it would be a problem.

Re: MrGasket problems

mine did the same thing (peeled some of the black coating off one of them when removing from package), i used it anyway

but one thing too do would be too stick it in the freezer for a little bit...before opening the package
