Question AC going bad?

My AC compressor seems to be going bad. I don't know if it's the clutch or the pump or what. Any help diagnosing the problem would be greatly appreciated.

Diagnose what???? You didn't give us any symptoms or any indication as to what you checked. Don't even bother unless you have a scanner. And find out if you have any DTC set. Remember AC DTC's don't turn on the SES.

No Need To Be Mean. Just Because The Air Is Not Cold Does Not Mean The Compressor Is Bad. The Comp. Will Not Turn On If The System Is Low On Freon Too. If The System Is Blowing But Not Cold You Could Be Looking At A Leak Somewhere Or A Bad Comp. Remember That The A/c Is A Sealed System So Using Freon Is Not Possible. If The A/c Is Not Blowing Then You Could Be Looking At A Blower Motor Or Something Electrical. The System Could Also Have A Blockage In It Preventing The Cycle The System Has To Go Through.
Good Luck

Ok, I guess I should have at least told you that when I turn the A/C on the clutch kicks in and then the belt squeels. Maybe the compressor is locked up, I dun't know where to start the diagnosis. If I need a scanner, then that's useful information, but what kind of scanner ?? If the symtom I've listed already means replace the pump then I'll do that, I was just hoping that it might be something simple. I have the A/C serviced about 6-8 months ago and it was working fine.

All you might need is a new belt.

Does it still blow cold air? Do you have a thermometer that you can stick in one of the middle vents and see how cold it is getting? Does the compressor make any noise?

I'm having the same problem. Except on mine I turn on the ac and it blows out nothing but hot air???? I can hear the clutch kick in, also check to see if I had enough refregerant and all seems ok. But the hot air blowing in you're face. There no need to work out when you're in my car. You bust out in a sweat just sitting there.

If the compressor is cycling fast, I think your just out of refrigerant. You might want to check for leaks too.
