The Royal Purple motor oil to me works the best, it will make the motor smoother and it reves faster , also no carbon build up on the throttle body.

I'm running Schaeffer Supreme 5w30 in my Firebird, Royal Purple 5w30 in my wife's car, Castrol Formula SLX 0w30 (from Germany) in my sister's car, and GTX High Mileage 5w30 in my mom's.

What's with the comment about Pennzoil in the poll? Pennzoil is a good oil. Don't believe all those old wive's tales you hear from old mechanics about how Pennzoil or Quaker State causes sludge.

I've never had a problem with quaker state, although my mechanic doesn't recommend penzoil because of the slugde problem, so I decided to check it out. Sure enough after about 2500 miles it does start getting kinda thick. My grandparents used to run penzoil, I asked them if I could change their oil on their cars once. I changed one at 3000 miles (not much difference) changed the other at 5000 miles and at 5000 miles it was pretty nasty. I've never heard a bad thing about quaker state, never had problems with it either...I did hear castrol casued problems with spun bearings, however, the PD here in OKC uses castrol GTX and they don't seem to have problems so I am a believer in it.
