I really dont know much about motor mounts but after reading some stuff concerning installing my tubular K-Member, people recommend replacing them while your there, since they aren't terribly expensive. (151k miles)

so that being said, car is a daily driver/road course car.

where and what kind of motor mounts should i get?

 

Stock mounts are perfectly fine, IMO, or if your a performance nut you can upgrade to "Poly". Chev., Jegs, Summit, JC Whitney, etc., etc, etc.

i went with prothane mounts, they're under 100 bucks IIRC and they use the factory clamshells. definitely a good idea to replace them when doing a k member

 

I used prothane but remember you only need one side using that k-member.

 

I'm using the prothane as well with the same k-member. Very happy with them, but stockers would have been just fine.

 

whats the difference between stock and prothane? and where does one pick up stock ones?

 

you can get stock ones at any parts store. the polyurethane ones are simply that, polyurethane instead of hard rubber. same duty, but they don't "give" as much as stock ones do. therefore you might feel more of the engine through the steering wheel. not a huge difference, but why not upgrade while you are under there.
