And I dont care what magazines have them listed at. Magazines also listed the 4th gen LS1 camaro's anywhere from 13.8 or 9's down to 12.8 or 9's. Everyone I have seen run was in mid 13's. Trap speed was between 106 and about 108 what I have seen so far. Sure their impressive. I never said they were slow. Just that a bolt on LT1 would give them a good run for their money.
Magazine times are useless. Look at what they run. Check out Dodge Talk some time. They are a low to mid 13 second car with the average driver. Im sure some have pulled off high 12's.

would have been nice to have a manual option in the dodges. could probably run mid 12s. awesome for that hugeass car.

I know im not planning on doing one on my carbecause i drive it too much, and Id rather not have to keep looking at the temp guage every 10 seconds worrying if my electric pump is working or not.
It definatly is a proven gain, but is it worth your worries and possible engine damnage?

Hell a sightly modified hemi truck. Hot rod did just a cam swap on mostly stock 5.7L Hemi with just LTs and picked up 80 something horsepower. Its got me wanting to do a cam swap in my ram.
Re: Most HP I can get on an everyday lt1
Yea, and how many of them do you see ? He made it sound like an LT1 car is obsolete. I can count the cars in one day I see that are fast. And the ones that are SUV's trucks etc ... Slim to none.
As far as modding the truck goes ... And the Chargers ... Look at the weight. Chargers are over 4000lbs I think. I remember reading somewhere they are 4200 lbs. Eventually that weight is going to be a limiting factor. And for the SUV's and Trucks, that combined with the areodynamics, it makes for a bad combonation.
I repsect them for what they are. Dont get me wrong, I am impressed with them. But I RARELY if ever see them. Only point I am trying to make is that the LT1 is not as slow as some of you are making it seem. Any car that runs high 13's stock is no slouch. And its not like you see Blazer SS's and **** everyday ...

Re: Most HP I can get on an everyday lt1
Im looking at an LE2 up grade w/ a procharger anything to get me at 450 rwhp should be good and it looks like the water pump is dead just need to know if I should go with an e-pump or the one GM put in there but I did find the paper from the last owner when he had the last one put in and it has a life time warr- on it .
Re: Most HP I can get on an everyday lt1
If youre going that route, make sure you rebuild your bottom end with forged components and lower the compression. Otherwise, you'd probably be building a time bomb. LE2 + supercharging out to be good for atleast 500rwhp.
Re: Most HP I can get on an everyday lt1
Last time I was at the track a hemi powered jeep was there knocking down 13.6s !!! That was crazy.
With the mods I've done to my car I rarely see a car stay within 6 or so car lengths of me. Pullied and ported case Cobras see my tailights. I havent been able to line up with a new Z06 yet , but I think it will be fun.

Just about anything with an LS1 in it.
Trail Blazer SS, new Impala SS, HHR.
Both Lotus models.
Most M Class BMW's.
Most AMG Benz'es.
Porsche Cayenne Turbo S
Then there are many SUV's; Infiniti, Lexus, even the Range Rover that are in the 14lbs./hp range. I'm lugging around 12.5lb./hp, so with better gearing many of these can give you a hard time also.
And I'm not counting the Ferrari Dealer who lives down the street and is always driving some Exotic home.
Oh and the LT1 IS obsolete!! That's why GM doesn't make them any more.
