Most HP I can get on an everyday lt1
After having my run in with an SRT-8 on the way home I am going to do what it takes to kick his @$$, now having said that I do not and will not use nitrous not trying to start a fight w/ the nitrous guys Its just he got me on all motor and thats the way im going to send he back to his mama. What is the best way to max out my lt1? Its an A4 w/ an K&N and its been droped 1" thats it.

Invest in a real cold air intake kit first off.
Second go get some long tubes and a full exaust, unless u have to pass smog then get some legal shorties.
Get some underdrive pulleys.
Go 160 T stat and a good tune.
Mezier electric water pump is a must
Hot cam it if u have to pass smog
With full bolt ons, ported heads and a hot cam you will destroy that thing lol.
Even with full bolt ons he will have his hands full.

With full bolt ons and a hotcam you'd be at 330+ rwhp on the low side, so say 375+ hp at the crank...
A pretty heavily modded SRT-4 could run w/ that though... (edit whoops I thought you said a SRT-4...)
I think you'd be better off w/ a LE1 heads/cam package from eportworks.com. That would get you well on up around 420+ hp at the crank.

You will need a cam to run with a SRT-8, and if your car is full weight even then it could be close. Heads are gonna be necessary if you want to really put the hurt on one.
Those cars are no joke, theyll run with LS1s down the strip. Be wary that if you start to do internal modifications such as a cam, there is a chance that you could potentilaly loose some reliability with your ride.

They are pretty heavy though.
A H/C LT1 is good for solid mid to low 12's. On the right tire/suspension, you could even pull off high 11's. This is more than enough for an SRT8. You wont see too many of them running times like this. They weigh to much, are too new, and too expensive to modify. Most people dont tear into an engine on a car they are still making payments on, especially while its still under warrenty.

srt-8 is turbo right? Last time I checked thats not all motor. $40 bottle of juice and thats the end of that.
But anyway, I'd say if you don't want to spray get a cam and a blower.

SRT8's are the v8 ones. Their pretty mean for a 4000+ lbs car. They run mid to low 13's on a nice launch. Their like full bolt-on LT1 terrirtory. Their weight will hurt them though once the modding starts. I bet you dont see hardly any of them going mid to low 12's.
SRT4's are the rubo neons. They fly for a four banger econo-car. They will do high 13's stock. On the stock turbo though, not many seem to be running faster than high 12's ... So basically its into the bolt ons, cam only LT1 times.
A heads cam LT1 would give any of the new Mopar, aside from the Viper, a run for their money, even if their modded. As long as you do a good heads cam combo that is. Like dont stick stock LT4 heads in it and a hot cam.

Re: Most HP I can get on an everyday lt1
Do everything step by step. Go get all of the things i mentioned, and try to run him with full bolt ons. I have ran a best of 13.5 at 101 with a 1.968 60 foot at the track. All i had done at that time was full exaust with shorties, and a Cold air intake kit. Moroso to be exact, i know my car is capable of probably 13.2 now with all of the other bolt ons ive done, i think even more now though cause i stripped the hell out of it. But still with just intake and exaust you should be a mid to low 13 second car, you do full bolt ons and you will be high 12s if your car runs good. That alone should give him a run for his money.

It definatly is a proven gain, but is it worth your worries and possible engine damnage?
