Moroso CAI Install ?

I attempted the install and today and it was a LOT harder than I thought it would be. I had to take out a bunch of stuff and I couldn't get that one thing back in right that has to harnesses plugged into it right behind the light. I couldnt get the CAI bolted down to the metal either(there are no holes). What have you guys done in the past? Is there an easier way to clean it also?? Thanks in advance.

I'll agree that the CAI install is a little harder than expected, but it only took me like 2 hours. You have to drill holes to put bolts through, I just guessed on sizing and it worked out fine. Just line up the holes for the filter plate. The filter is kinda a pain to get to once installed, but you only need to clean it like every 10k miles.

it took me 25 min too. i didnt even drill holes for it to bolt down, waste of time. once its installed its not moving and it doesnt rattle at all.just put metal plate down with nothing attached to it, then u can slide ur filter on underneath and tighten it with a short handle flathead. the rest is self explanatory.

Well I got it pretty tight in there and I didn't drill holes either. It is pretty firm and doesn't seem to be going anywhere. How do you access it from the bottom??

I was also curious about the other air intake tube that has like 3 different openings and a small box type thing on top of it that has to plugs plugged into it. What exactly does this do?

From underneath, remove the couple of bolts that hold the plastic undercarrige piece that has some "slits" in them that resemble something for breathing. You should have a clear view then. Use a small stuby flathead to loose the screw in the clamp and it should fall off.

As noted above, remove the plastic cover panel. You may have to loosen a couple screws that hold that end of the air dam in. Then loosen about 6 or so screws that go into the bottom of the bumper cover and the plastic fender filler panel.

Sounds like you are talking about the stock air box. Part of it remains. The "small box type thing" with (I assume you mean) two plugs in it is the headlight motor controller. You need to unscrew that from the airbox and move it over to either the metal wall right behind the headlight, or the metal fender liner right under the fuse/power box.

Its the light motor controller that makes it a little bit harder than the Z28s'.... so it might take you more than "25 min".

Take the time to drill two holes for the bolts that hold the filler plate down. It should give a better air seal. You should also drill a hole and put a screw in to hold the headlight motor controller box wherever you chose to locate it.
