More than a few questions inside..

My friend just picked up a 94 Z28. I fear for its health. First array of questions pertain to missing bolts. LOTS OF THEM. Anyone know where to get bolts? A kit full of them or anything....Ill give you a run down of what Ive noticed.

PCM - Thats right..not mounted down
Shifter - Pulls right on off
Interior Tabs/Plastic Cowl over wipers tabs.
Fuse box - Under hood ... is just laying there.

Yeah.. its semi-healthy going to address stumbling issues soon. It has headers, CAI and a full catback. Supposively a new motor, trans and rearend. What a mess.

Also... It appears he doesnt have vent tubes for his Opti..however a 94 should have a Vented Opti.. I know they said they replaced the engine... so it may have a vented opti with the vents NOT hooked up... Im assuming moisture would easily build up inside if thats true.

Finally.. My MAF connects on the top and I noticed his maf is plugged in on the bottom. Im wondering how possibly it is for a car to run at all with the maf installed backwards (as I believe his might be.) Thanks for the help guys.

Can't answer all your questions, but here's a couple.
94 opti is unvented. If you have a vented opti on the motor then you will need a kit to adapt it.
as far as bolts go, I would hit the local boneyards and try to get the right ones from wrecks. Mike

Most of the hardwear you need is available at the parts store, the company that makes a lot of them is HELP!, most of the parts you listed are pretty common. Others are ethier dealer only or bone yard items.

MAF obviously flows from air intake (filter) to TB so the screen side would be on the air intake side (usually on the right as you face the the engine).

Yeah I get that.. I was trying to remember from glancing (First time I saw it was late last night for about 10mins..this is all stuff I remember from that little bit of time.)

My MAF is in the correct way..and the plug comes from underneath and plugs into it from the top. I believe his was from the botom which is why Im thinking its in wrong. But I dont know if it would even run with it that way.

The way my plug is....

His plug is upside down.

Credit to Shoebox for his always priceless information and pictures!

For future reference..

The car will run with the MAF installed incorectly!!!

My instincts were dead on. His intake elbow has a tear and is leaking (i have a new one for him ) and the maf is descreened. I may swap his with mine to see if his is bad. Crazy stuff... this car is a piece of work.
