Re: More good Lloyd Elliott results

The #s look great (even though we all know the torque # is probably a spike) and the customer is happy.

...so what else really matters?

I really hope this thread doesn't turn into another pissing match.

jesus christ. i cant believe all the schoolgirl bickering thats been going on in all these LE head/cam threads lately. i cant wait for the hair pulling and eye gouging to start.

i personally dont care what they make on the dyno, i care what they run at the track.

I agree, the guy got really good numbers, doesn't really matter which company, and he did state a "lot" of stuff that he changed to get the new numbers, so he didn't just put a one liner saying "the cam and head package alone gave me these numbers", he is simply sharing some of his results and they are damn good results and he stated things he changed around to get them.

Kudos for the awesome setup, hopefully i get mine running at the beginning of summer so i can say the same about being happy about how my car is running.

Lots of people do great work, just happens that lloyd helped out and got this car running to where the guy is happy, that is what really matters.

Sorry all these guys on this board can't have a race car like you Dwayne

Back on topic. Good numbers. Plan on taking it to the track anytime soon? I would love to see what ET/MPH it pulls.

BUT I highlighted some issues I have with your statements . What did you have before the longtubes??? If the answer is manifolds right there is a big chunk of power you picked up, to come here saying you got all the power from just the heads and cam is flat out wrong.

Can you read? he clearly stated with headers. If you are going to try and start a fight..you might want to start it intelligently. right now..you have no credibility and look moronic.

OMG you all need to drop it.

Anyhow. CrazyLT1 did you data log the dyno pulls? If so did you take map sensor readings? Id like to see the graph. Just curious about the boost levels as you move throughout the rpm range. I watched chevelle on the dyno a while back that was losing boost to belt slip. You can kinda see the map graph start to fall off slightly at the end of the pull. The slip was not audible and you could not smell the burnt rubber, but when the tension was increased on the belt we saw it go from 6lbs of boost to 9lbs of boost.

In the mean time those are some awesome numbers. Whats the car like to drive? I bet its an animal. Have fun.

Most agree that the unlocked converter did that to the TQ curve and a locked converter would have made the TQ #'s lower and HP #'s higher.

Re: More good Lloyd Elliott results

One day I was bored so I decided to do a search on "Lloyd Elliot" and "LE" just to see what would come up. After browsing through the thread titles for awhile, I started noticing some common words that kept showing up repeatedly:

"good," "success," "best," and "thanks."

So am i the only one to ask this question or did i read something wrong, or am i missing something? You only made 308 rwhp running a blower? Even if it was only 6lbs of boost.

Re: More good Lloyd Elliott results

I'm pretty happy with my LE2 heads/cam setup. Still have to hit the dyno but I did get some runs in at KCIR and with a 75hp TNT shot of nitrous, 3.07 gears, 3000 stall I did a respectable 11.9sec / 120.1mph pass (with a 1.9 60' and 127 degree track temps). No NA numbers 'cause I kept lining up with supercharged Mustangs... I couldn't give an FI advantage and didn't lose to any of 'em

This was on a '96 Vette, stock bottom end.

I've pretty much got the sub 2k rpm tuning smoothed out and am looking to hit the dyno within the next month.

an unlocked converter will create that situation.. IF he was to lock it.. it would increase significantly.. Loss through the converter is dependant on how good the converter is (efficient..) Great #'s.. As long as your happy who cares..

That's 80 some rwhp over stock. Seems reasonable to me.
