More good Lloyd Elliott results

Hey guys, I posted a while ago that I was having trouble with a mass air signal and low HP numbers, but this is not the case anymore. Turns out the plugs were the wrong ones also and their spark was blowing out. Last year, the car made 308 RWHP on a bone stock '97 LT1 with a Vortech 6 lb. supercharger and magnaflow cat-back exhaust.
Over the winter, I pulled the motor and forged the bottom end, and added a LE2 head and custom blower cam package, along with long-tube headers and the other minor bolt ons. Left the displacement at 350 ci. cuase the motor only had 20,000 miles on it. Just finished the tuning yesterday and the car made 446 RWHP and 527 RWTQ with a nice flat torque curve. This was on a very conservative tune. We made over 470 RWHP on a run, but the air/fuel was getting just a little lean so we brought it back down. I changed the pulley on the Vortech but the boost still ended up at 6 psi. due to the enahnced engine airflow. Keep in mind that this is on an A4. So, basically Lloyd's head and cam package with headers gained me 138 RWHP from what I had before!
Thanks a lot to Lloyd and Bret for the great work. I would incourage everyone to check their packages out if considering doing head or cam work.

Nice numbers man. Was the convertor locked or unlocked, an unlocked converter can cost from 10-50 hp in cases ive seen.

No doubt Loyd and Bret do good work this is in no way aimed at them.

BUT I highlighted some issues I have with your statements . What did you have before the longtubes??? If the answer is manifolds right there is a big chunk of power you picked up, to come here saying you got all the power from just the heads and cam is flat out wrong.

I know not everyone appreciates objectivity, some prefer pure ego stroking

Im not sure if im misreading something, but he didn't say that he got the power from just the heads and cam, he states "with the headers". So im not sure what you are trying to point out.

He might have even installed new plugs and did an oil change while he was at it Dwayne if ya wanna write that down too.

Some highlights about his set up is that the cam is not that radical at all and is VERY streetable and only 6 lbs of boost.

Some people can find something positive or negative about any post if they look hard enough. Kyle seems very happy with his set up. I guess if the same results were posted from another company Dwayne would be happy as well.

Re: More good Lloyd Elliott results

I know Lloyd you like to PRETEND I am picking on you, but the first line of my first post says otherwise. I just look at details.

After looking again at that peak torque I have to think that is a spike and not a true number, if you can scan the graph I can get it hosted if you can't.

Re: More good Lloyd Elliott results

I think we all decided that the torque # was due to having the converter unlocked. Thus it being so high.
