misfire problem

This is my first time on here and I could really use some help. I have a 96 SS it is throwing the po300 code. I have changed the plugs and wires and I really don't know where to go from there. The car has a slight tap going on by cylinder 2 and if you give it gas it pops back from the intake. Any ideas?

Re: misfire problem

Is it like a "back fire"???I would check the air inlet elbow for tares,rips,ect..check all the vacuum lines as well. You could also have a dead injector..leaking intake gasket..

Have you checked the valve adjustment?
