Angry Misfire codes, did I fry the ICM?

The last couple days the car has been running pretty rough, after a couple seconds at idle it starts to get choppy. Horrible (I mean, 4 banger horrible) acceleration and it damn near refuses to rev at all.

I got codes 0303, 0307 (misfires on those cylinders) and I got it home and tore into it a bit. I found that two wires bolted to the ICM stud had broken, one was a braided chassis() ground, the other was a small black wire. I reterminated both wires and put it back together, it was better for all of 30 seconds and then it started again.

Could I have fried the ICM by not having these wires connected for any period of time? I tried bypassing the MSD, no joy, fuel pressure is good so I am pretty sure it's spark. No other codes have shown up yet. It starts up and shuts off just fine.

Help! I have a new problem with this car every 3 weeks and I'm gonna lose it pretty soon. Any help or advice is MUCHO appreciated!

Thanks

If your misfires are limited to those two cylinders, and you aren't getting any codes for the ICM, I'd say you have a plug wire problem.... maybe cross-firing between those two wires.

Re: Misfire codes, did I fry the ICM?

Nope, I had a "Bank 1 lean" misfire code for a few minutes then it went away, but I thought my fuel solenoid for the nitrous kit was leaking again. I disconnected the fuel line to the nitrous plate and ran it again, started getting misfire codes. I checked the injector harness, battery terminals, and the ground wire, all are nice and snug.

At one point the car wouldn't start at all, I thought it might be the battery cables because there was no juice or spark ANYWHERE, so I picked up the battery and jiggled the cables, then it started right up. Maybe a broken battery cable is causing this? I have over 13.5 volts at cruise on the factory gauge.

Anybody know what the two wires grounded to the ICM were?
