Angry misfire, car revs to 2k

Guys I need help here..I have a 1995 Z28 m6
lately it has been hard to start when cold, then it started to shut off when I was driving and stopping at a light...then when I turn the car on.. the revs go up to 2k and didn't go down for a while, when finally i start to drove the car. it started to have missfires and detonations with no power...also I notice a noise coming fro the passenger side, like a exhaust leak..
what can be?

I recently changed the plugs and wires..

Probably the opti-spark. My car was doing similar things, minus the shutting off.

If you look around the front of the motor see if there are any oil leaks on the timing cover. My opti died of a leaking WP DS seal.

I'd recheck your plug wires, sounds like one may be burnt.

If you have a miss at low speed, you might find it using an inductive pickup timing light. Just an idea.
