Question mechanical speedo w/ 4L60e

Anyone use a mechanical speedo and also the VSS sensor w/ a 4L60e? I'm looking at relaoting the reluctor ring on the output shaft and installing a new VSS, then installing the mechanical speedo in the original opening.

You can, but the computer needs a digital speed reading to tell the transmission when to shift.

what are you trying to accomplish? are you putting a 4l60E in an older car? why go w/mech. speedo? your PCM DOES NEED the vss signal to know when to shift the trans.
