Measuring Knock sensor resistance?

Trying to measure the resistance of my knock sensor and I'm a little confused with the readings I was getting, they seem to be all over the place.
I have the ohmmeter dial set on "20K".
Measuring with the probe on the center post of the sensor and the other probe on the ground wire just above the sensor, the reading is 3.87...so it that only 3870 ohnm?? As I move the probe around on the ground the reading goes from anywhere between 3.8 and 189.0

So I'm guessing the least resistance while sliding the probe around on the ground wire connection above the sensor is the reading I want. and if its 3.8k then it WAY LOW as a good sensor should be between 93k - 107k right?

Measure the resistance of the sensor, itself, from the center terminal of the sensor, to the metal side of the sensor or engine block ground, not to the ground wire of the harness.

Tell us what year this car you are testing is.

Thanks sb! I did measure the resistance on the metal part of the KS itself and it was also 3.8k. I see on your site, 3300-4500 is good for OBD1. Sorry, this was on my 95 TA, so it is within range! The values I had were for OBD2.
Many thanks!
