Question Throttle Body Bypass Fix My Leak?

I have a 94 Z28 that has a very small amount of coolant getting into the combustion chamber. My mechanic thought that it is ether a head gasket or more likely a leak in the intake system.

The car has had this problem for like a year or more and has not gotten worst. I would have thought a head gasket would have gotten worse and caused other problems.

So if it is a leak in the intake system would installing a Throttle Body Bypass cure my problem and help my performance?

There is no coolant running through the intake on an LT1.

If you have an internal leak, the TB bypass will do nothing to fix that. The TB bypass simply removes the coolant hoses going into the throttle body and connects them together.

The throttle body coolant bypass could fix a coolant leak if the coolant from the throttle body lower bowl was leaking into the IAC port which is also in the lower bowl of the throttle body. Definetly not common, but possible.

Hey guys,
I put some stuff I think is was called Dyke that seals coolent leaks in the radiator.

The check engine light was staying on before and now it is off most of the time. The check engine light sometimes comes on when I hear the radiator fan kick on. It seems as though the car is getting better as I drive it so I am hoping that this solves my problem.

If I still have a problem I may try the bypass before tearing into the engine.

i'd suggest doing the tb bypass anyway? i think its claimed to get maybe 1-2hp from it and its pretty simple. i think the only reason not to do it would be if you lived somewhere with extreme cold in the winter? but i'll let someone else correct me if i'm wrong.
