In a nutshell, the XE cam opens the valve later and closes it quicker, but it reaches peak lift faster and holds it near peak lift longer. What this does is give you the positive effects of a bigger cam w/o the driveability issues that go along with it. This is why I recommend the XE grind...you're going to get more power with the same or slightly better driveability than the Hotcam.

Comp's catalog has a section that lists all their lobe grinds, and gives advertised, .050 and .200 lift duration numbers. That way you can compare magnum cams like the cc305 to XE grinds, etc. VERY informative.
I agree 100%. The Comp Extreme series cams make everything else obsolete. The only drawback is that you have to use more valvespring pressure to control the valvetrain under the aggressive valve acceleration. I'm running 145# seat pressure with mine and I'd recommend at least 135# for you.

with this cam and home ported heads I dynoed 349/349 with two misfiring cylinders and a 11 degrees of KR at peak so I think it has some ***** I did a 12.7@114 with a 2.4 60' so on a drag radial its easy 11s
