Mcleod - no longer make or service the street twin for LT1s.
Just some FYI. Don't know if this is new or old news? I figured I post this here instead of the Drive train section just because it is for LT1s and be useful here is people are planning engine builds.
My street twin is having issues. When I drive for long periods or hot lap the car the clutch doesn't want to disengage, to the point when it gets stuck in gear. Once it cools off it shifts fine unlit it heats up again. Clutch is older and has allot abuse! LOL! I have not pulled anything apart yet, will be getting it on the lift in a week or two.
Anyhow, I called Mcleod about servicing it and possibly changing from the steel to aluminum flywheel. And was told the LT1 system is discontinued because they cannot get the parts and cannot service them either. I have to buy a new LS1 pull style set-up. Cost would be about $2,200 for all the parts.
So if the clutch is bad, have to decide what to do. Not sure if I want to go through that change just in case this might happen in the future with the LS1 setup? Thinking about changing to a Spec 3 or 4 setup?

Thanks for the update. Another wound to the dying LT1. Guess swapping in the TH400 w/ Gear Vendors O/D wasn't such a bad decision. The Street Twin was a great clutch though.

Have you ever seen or heard of T56 Magnum or T6060 swaps with the Quicktime belhousings? I have been thinking about this as I am not expecting my transmission to hold together with the supercharger.

Ouch. Sucks McLeod can't rebuild them anymore
They use the stock PP so that is available anywhere. The discs themselves could be had. Competition clutch can make any size
The floater plate would be a issue but "possibly" could be resurfaced
FW can be resurfaced also if its not to gone
Have had my Street Twin for years and don't drag race it anymore so ideally, it's the last clutch that I will have in the car. Emission testing is getting really hard though in CA. They keep lowering the allowable tailpipe #'s to essentially force these cars off the road

Yes, that is correct. I have a new drivetrain with a Moser rear, Tick performance Level 2 Tr-6060 6-speed transmission, Quicktime. We waited months last year for delivery of a new street twin from McLoud. After we received the clutch, they sent the wrong one. McLoud is having some issues. The shop where my car was decided to go with a Monster triple disc clutch. Its expensive, but I don't have to worry about a clutch again and its repairable and upgradeable. They are out of Texas. It feels like a stock clutch and its good for 700ft lbs.

Hello Drew,
I did not do the work myself. I had a shop do it. The biggest challenges for me was the wait. I do not believe there was any custom work that needed to be done to make anything fit.
