max cam lift for lt1

Just curious what the maximun lift I could give my LT1? Got a new cam but am afraid to go with 1.6 RR because the lift will exceed .600 Anyone know how high I can go or what the highest safest lift would be?

Whats your motor setup, and you will need to make sure you have very good valvesprings for above .600

I was told if you go much over .620" lift that the valves will start kissing the pistons.... stock internals.

It's not just lift. Piston to valve clearance also depends on the valve timing. IOW, you can't tell without measuring. If you know someone with an identical combo that works, that's another way of knowing if you have enough clearance.

Sounds like a pretty odd combo though, with stock internals and >0.600" lift. What do you have in mind?

Im running with .608/.614 lift with no problems but when it was installed I was told that it was very close tolerances piston to valve and he warned me before he even installed it. I think my ptv clearnace was only .060 .

yeah they are stock heads for now. I'm only running a .555/.576 lift right now. Didn't really want to go any bigger. Just wanted to know
