Mass Air Flow Sensor Questions
I was wondering if there if any MAFS better than stock sensor for a 95 lt1? I have heard mixed reviews on aftermarket MAFS that they make more power and don't. Are there any ECU upgrades or anything to get rid of the MAFS? I know on some other cars, mainly foreign cars you can get rid of the MAFS.

There are a few companies that offer MAS's Granatelli for one and TPIS offers ported ones with an exchange. If I were you I would call TPIS and ask their opinion. 952-448-6021 As far as getting rid of the MAS the only way I know is to use a new ECM system that uses the speed density method. This is what I plan to do with mine so I am not limited to intake size.
I personally feel that an aftermarket MAF sensor is a complete waste of money. The stocker simply isn't a restriction... spend the $$$ on something more useful.
Running speed density is as simple as a bit switch. In the PCM software there is a switch, as soon as it's flipped you are running speed density. Tunercat and LT1_Edit can accomplish this. To do this "correctly" may require tuning work however, HEAVY tuning work if you are not stock. I've spent countless hours perfecting my speed density tune but I have a few mods. The only reason I'm running SD is to make the tuning more flexible and because I descreened/ported my stock MAF and had bad results, FWIW.
