Manual Bypass to turn starter?

Will running a single wire to the purple wire to the starter allow me to touch +12V and turn the starter manually?

Anyone ever done this? I want to do a compression check and I am by myself right now...

Thanks

just put a wire on the purple wire and a wire on the power wire on the starter and touch the wire ends together.

Re: Manual Bypass to turn starter?

Sry guys...it was my fault...the rubber groment around the purple wire was allowing me to get a bad connection at the starter..Once I redid the wire it worked perfectly...

Thanks
