Where do you pick up the Trick Flows at? I dont see em on Jegs's website. What about these guideplates? Are thay any good? http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...47134_-1_10227 Part #11650-1, using them with my stock pushrods, motors from a 94, so they are hardened.

I'm confused here. A few years ago, we were told the ONLY guide plates we could use on an LT1 were the GMPP plates, or Isky adjustables. This was because the valve spacing is different on an LT1 than a standard SBC????
I know I've tried COMP plates for a standard SBC, and the rockers roller tips wouldn't even line up on the valves. Are these Manleys or Trick Flows specifically for an LT1?

Probably for Bowtie SBC heads which have a very similar spacing. (Maybe Vortec also??) Only way I have seen to get them PERFECT is with Isky's, and the only way to run 3/8ths PRs is with Isky's.

BTW wonder why nobody is jumping on GM's nuts about the bad guideplates like say the Comp R and 26918 deals? Like the guideplates, the only thing you can do is just move on to another better part.

Because a guideplate that isn't heat-treated properly won't cause you to drop a valve in your motor and grenade the whole longblock.

Because they haven't destroyed entire engines.

Metal shavings going thru the oil into the pump can EASILY destroy an entire engine, and you would never know why.

Fred thank you very much for the info! It really made my day.
Anybody else use these plates?
What are the results you got, and did you have to file the stud holes.
More info would be great.

I just swapped out a set of GMPP guideplates that probably missed the hardening
step and they had significant wear after only 5k miles. The GMPP guideplates
that went in where hardened. I checked each one with my auto center punch and
the dimple was about 1/3 the depth as the non-hardened ones. I can't believe that
GM has not done squat about the crappy guideplates.
