I wonder if these are as good as the Breslins.

Percy's website has been saying for a while that they were going to have them out by last Christmas, but I never actually saw any for sale. I couldn't wait, so I went with the Breslins I found. Those particular Percy's dont appear to be stainless.

What I heard is that the guy who owned percy's passed away and the company went on hiatus as a result, but percy's just bought them out. I would imagine if percy's just bought out the company, the product is the same.

this is only what i hear though i cant cite it anywhere.

If this pans out to be true, then that is good news. The Breslins were argueably the best header bolts on the market.

I would hope Percy's is also going to manufacture the stainless steel variety.

I am assuming you meant to say the owner of breslins right?

I am one who had nothing but trouble from the Breslins. At least four of mine loosened repeatedly and two of them got stripped. They are too much trouble to get in there with an allen wrench then to get in with another wrench. I would recommend a regular hex bolt so all you need to do is tighten once.

what a bunch of craptastic nonsense. $50 for header bolts? are you serious...
a 3/8" hex arp header bolt will do just fine. even if they loosen up they're extremely easy to gain access and retighten. however i've only ever had to tighten mine after a few heat cycles with a new header gasket. those POS' are as much of a joke as trying to use stage 8 locking bolts on a LT1.
rubbish!

Most people that have used the Breslin Split Lock bolts swear by them. Are your claims that they are rubbish spoken from a standpoint of personal experience? I've never used Stage 8 bolts, but the Breslin design seems far superior, imo.

I bought 5/16 ARP bolts for 1/2 the price I sold my breslins for and haven't looked back. They haven't even needed to be re-torqued yet.

On a side note how many cars come with locking header bolts from the factory?

i spent $50 on them once and id do it again. I installed mine 3 years ago and i havent even bothered to check them since. also not all bolts are easy to get access to. Do it right or do it again IMO.

To each his own. I know that a few of my stock manifold bolts were somewhat loose when I went to remove them. Considering that the split lock design won a few engineering awards, someone must have found it fairly ingenious. For anyone interested in a locking bolt, I would check them out.

Percy's acquired Breslin so you would think they are selling the product.

>>Percy's Split Lock Fasteners<<

I've just recently tried the Breslins so it's too early to tell. I do know that the
stock exhaust manifolds with stock gaskets and stock bolts also loosen up because
I had three or four loose bolts on disassembly. And this was only 5k miles after they
were installed and torqued to 30 ft-lbs. Although the Breslins were easy to install
at first before the rest of the crap was in the way, they were a PITA to retighten
after a few heat cycles. I'm hopeful that they will stay tight.
