mail order tune or dyno tune?

mail order tune or dyno tune?
I recently just got done with a cam swap in my 94 z28. I did a cc306, with 918 springs and comp ultra pro mag 1.6 rr. I am using stock ported heads for now. I am going to put a stall in it within the next few weeks. My question is how good are some of these mail order tunes? Everyone in my area charges around $450 for a dyno tune, and every tune after that is an additional $125. The reason I am wondering about these mail order tunes is because I will continue to modify this car and don't know if it is worth it for a dyno tune yet. I am actually very surprised how well it runs right now with this cam, I haven't driven it or anything, just ran it a while to bleed cooling system, reset rockers etc. Any advice would be great. Thanks

Re: mail order tune or dyno tune?
a mail order tune will be fine for your build. It is a well known combo to tuners who should be able to get it 95% perfect if not 100%. Typically you fill out a form listing the various mods you have done (cam, stall TC, rear gears, 58 mm TB, etc. and they do the tune. The $ range from $150-$350 depending on who you use. Some offer updates at discounted $.
Even if the car runs with the cam you need a tune so it "performs" to its potential with your other mods. The 58mm TB though will damage the transmission quickly if you don't get it tuned for that if you have a automatic
