MAF Sensor wiring harness?

Anyone have any idea why the wiring harness to my MAF Sensor has been cut, and then reconnected? I do know they car had a supercharger on it when I was the original owner almost 11 years ago. I recently got the car back from the 2nd owner, and I dont remember it from before. It is now a stock 1996 Z28 SS 6spd. Did have a Vortech S-trim on it before. Thanks.

They probably replaced the pigtail/connector and spliced a new one in.

When supercharged, the MAF is usually located ahead of charger and further away than the stock position. The MAF wiring needs extending to reach it.
