MAC header users (and other ?)

1. How do i clamp off the first header on the driver side (closest to the front bumper) permanently? I have an exhaust leak and im pretty sure its from there as i can see a thin black streak of carbon coming from the metal band. It is the header that has to be clamped to get around the steering knuckle.

2. my clutch doesnt come up as far as all the other camaros i have been in. the clutch is brand new but if i put my foot UNDER the pedal and pull up, it goes up quite a ways. Is something broken? Cable or something??

Thanks a bunch if you guys can give some thoughts

As far as the header clamp goes, I used ultra copper sealant on the tube and then slid it into the main header tube. Afterwards I just tightened up the clamp. Never had any leaks... (in that area)

Did you use any type of sealant when installing this clamp?

I cant remember if the Mack Instructions said you needed to do this or not. However Brent Franker has a great MAC headers writeup on his website. Instruction #17 mentions the use of sealant on the slip tube...

The link for the instructions is:

Hope this helps.

Ditto here with the Hi-temp sealant. Used some and no leaks, but bought a second clamp and installed them side by side just to make sure. It's a tight sqeeze working around that steering shaft.
