Well I was just attempting to install the new LT4 starter and found out the hard way that it won't fit with FLP LT's... The Solinoid mounting bolt ear is on the side and hits. I ground it down a bit and still no room. Was going to dent the FLP Primary it hits but my friends that own the shop I was working on it at are going to modify/move the mounting ear for that solinoid via weld and tapping. Should work out hopefully.I should have checked here before I started that way I would have known there was a clearence issue with the LT4 Starter and FLP's.. I did a search and see others too have had this come up. Oh well, we will get it...

 

I ran into this problem with FLP longtubes and an lt1 impala SS i was working on. The imp got my lt1 starter from my car, and i got a nice lt4 unit for mine
