LT4 setup,

I have seen a lot of people talking about how great it is and the lowest i have seen the kit was 2200-2300.00. What is it , any pictures of it. what does the intake that comes with it look like ,is it the same as ours.

thanks for any help on this

Summit has the kit in their latest catalog, with picture and parts list. The intake manifold is the GM LT4 red powder coated manifold. Looks the same as the LT1 intake, but powder coated red.

LT4 Intake

Although getting fully assembled LT4 heads, LT4 intake, the LT4 HOT cam and 1.6RR's in one neat package is convenient, you could probably achieve similar, if not better results with a good port job on your stock heads, and one of the popular LT1 aftermarket cams.

do a site search. there are a lot of posts on the LT4 conversion and lots of very good info. mids 12s is easily reached with that conversion, just use a ZZ9 cam and get the heads worked to accept it and your good. however you should be able to get in the mid 12s for a lot less than what the LT4 conversion will cost. Cool

I think I saw it on www.gmpartsdirect.com for 2,032.00

Don't know what the "infamous" shipping and handling would be on it, though.

I contemplated it when I blew a head gasket and warped my heads. Stock heads were $800.00 a head and AFR had a backorder of 8-10 weeks.

Wound up finding a set of mildly ported Corvette LT 1 heads for $200.00 here which did the trick.
