Sounds like the Hot cam is gonna be my route, but not gonna tear into it until winter.
its not a bad route. and its a whole kit so you know everything works together and its quality stuff from GMPP.

get a tune for it and get the LT4 knock module too.

ion at madz28.com has done lots of mail order tunes for the hotcam....

i thought id throw this little tidbit of info out there for you.

my brother in law has a 95 A4 with gears and some bolt ons. he had it tuned by madz28.com and was trapping low 102s

he did the hotcam (and had Ion tune it again) and gained over 1.5mph in the 1/4. he trapped a 103.8 last night, and it was pretty hot too.

so for a cam only, id say its very worth it....

The Hotcam is a good daily driver cam, easy on parts, easy to tune, cheap and proven to pass emissions. It can make good power for its intended use. I no longer daily drive mine but its still fun enough to be a "toy".

or you can go check out someone like Loyd Elliott, and get a cam with a strong broad powerband.

yore right, that's exactly what i said...and if you have trouble driving cars with big cams, doesn't mean everyone does.

my point is, that you dont need to use a cam as a [ EDIT ]. especially when you dont have power where you need it just so you can get a high peak HP number (Dyno Queen?)

all the big cams are made for power in the higher RPM range....where you cant even spin the LT1 (the average LT1 at least). Where is your rev limiter set?

BTW, hows your cam to drive anyway?
