Lt1 timing chain loose?

bought a new timing chain for my 95 z28 and put it on. the chain seems a little loose, is that a concern. it is the right chain for the car i checked the part#. Does GM make the chain loose so it can go on the gears?

I just pulled the engine and took it to a local machine shop. The block did not need to be bored but the crank got swapped out for another lt1 crank that didn't have to be turned as much.

A new chain will be tight and its normal for it to loosen up a little, within reason.

Seems LT1 chains are a little on the loose side. If you did not also change the gears (which you should do when replacing a chain), then it might not be as tight as it could be.

I did put all new gears on but the chain just seems a little loose. The chain isn't snug its a little on the loose side but its nothing extreme. I'm just trying to find out if these chains have a tendency to be more loose than snug.

LT1 timing sets are a little looser than what you would normally see if you are used to seeing older SBC's.

I used an LT4 Extreme set and it was on the loose side. Never had a problem.
