LT1 police package questions
Instead of replying with wiseacre posts that mean nothing, think about this for a moment. If one could acquire a 400+ hp z28 back in the '90's from the factory, it would have exceeded the performance of the corvette at the time. That has significance in two ways:
1 - Vette sales would have taken a hit and probably come to a complete halt.
2 - GM would never sell a sports/muscle car that makes more power than the vette for less.
If you still believe that your car came from the factory that way, I'll tell you where Jimmy Hoffa is buried.

i needed a good laugh.one or both of the following is true:
a) interceptor_z28 has no idea who shoebox is.
b) the troll is strong with interceptor_z28
Ya.. I think Shoebox is probably the #1 most thanked user on this site because of his INFORMATIVE how tos.
I will say, as a person that in 1995 was in talks with a dealer to order a B4C camaro, they are nothing special at ALL.

and if you look into it, I believe it was a GNX (which without googling I bet you don't know the difference) and ONE time in ONE magazine, it was just barely quicker than a vette and it became the 'vette killer'. Now I do like GN's, and wouldn't mind having one, but stock for stock, they were not Vette killers, and a perfect running GN and a average running 87 vette would be close and come down to the driver of the vette.

and
at this guy calling shobox outThe GNX was rated at 300 hp, Had special fenders(vents) blah, blah. I have a friend who has a Buick GN, read plenty on them.

sorry 94, had thought it was the tool that made that, reading>me, I think that the Syclones were faster than the vettes when they came out.
Injuneer, have you figured out if this is someone messing with us or something?

I thought that was not open to the public. I will meet you in Pomona just give me the dates and times; I beat your police car will get smoked. I really want to see what my car will do but I don't want to go out to Fontana speed way.

Wow! Just read the last two days of post. Hehehehehehehehehe!! Talked about delusional.
Almost feel sorry for the guy. He just found out his "special" factory intercepter is just a plain B4C and that the guy that sold it to him lied. Probably pay twice what it was worth, too. I've seen so many of those "factory installed roll bars" over the years!!! I wonder if he would give us the part number off of that, so I could go order one from the dealer.
Hehehehehe........sorry can't stop laughing.

I don't know why he is thinking this. He has no way of proving it.
Of course, decoding a 1996 VIN with a 2002 VIN decoder is not the right way to do things. Also, not knowing that all 4th gens were made in Ste. Therese (sp?) means he has a ways to go.
He definitely has a police car (the B4C on the build sheet), but obviously someone other than the factory put the mods on, if, indeed it is making 390hp (although, he hasn't stated how he knows that, either).
BTW, what is a "stock modification". I would imagine something being stock OR something being modified, but not both.
I missed alot by not stepping into this thread earlier - very entertaining. Made my day.

I just looked at my build sheet. If I add up all the numbers and divide by the number of options I get 536. Does that mean I have 536 horsepower or 536 torques????
Also, the square root of my tag number is "a". Do I have a special car????

Wouldn't that be COOL, if it was only true.
I don't see GM misrepresenting themselves here, so the misinformation must have come from the previous owner.
You have found nothing from what I can tell. I have the same information as you have posted, except for that mine is a 95 and a Z28 not a B4C.
Yes, you should care and, yes, it is a B4C, the build sheet shows you that.
Probably a 1LE intake rubber. I have one of those.
