Question ? For Lt1 owners with Ram Air

Is it even worth cutting out the vanes on the Ram Air box? Will it make a difference or is it just a waste of time?

It might be worth a little bit up top but I dont think its anything noticeable. My box doesnt have them, but Id remove them just cuz they're an eyesore.

Did your box have the hood/box gasket or did you install that? I need one for my car, and I dont know what to do about it. Been thinking of doing a lid setup unless I find a quick fix for it.

I purchased another cover and cut it out. I don't really think it will make much of a difference but it looks better and now my filter get dirty more evenly. Before, it would only get dirty where the slits were. It just doesn't appear efficient but I could be wrong.

I would think you compromise the structural integrity of the cover by cutting
out the vanes which may impact the seal around the edge of the air filter (between
the filter and the cover that is).

The shop that built my engine cut the "grille" out as soon as they saw the airbox (SLP aftermarket, not a real WS6 cover, no logos). I enlarged the opening even more, and added some thin metal rods to brace the cover so what was left would not deform....
