Should there be ram-air in the F-5
what do u think for the SS or Z28, whichever is on top, do u think it should have ram-air or otherways of getting more power, hopefully more than just a 15 hp difference.
I dont think it should have ram-air, i think it should have more displacement or something.

The top model, ram air or not, should have a different engine, not just an uprating of the same one.
Like this
Base Model: 3800 V6
RS : 5.3L (327ci) Iron Block V8
Z28 or SS (NOT Z28SS
): 5.7L Aluminum LS1/6
------------------
1994 Z-28 A4
160° Thermostat, TB Bypass, Cutout, 1LE elbow, LT4 KM, bad tires.
14.24@97.7 - 2.1x 60' - 100° and 80%+ humidity.

As far as i'm concerned, they should **** can the "SS" altogether. All it does is devalue the Z28 and keep it from getting things like better wheels and suspension settings and better styling tweaks - stuff that costs little or no more extra to manufacture in volume. All to make sure the SS is worth that $3500 premium.
The Z28 has been devalued so much that 50% of V8's are now SS's stickering at or over 30k. Dealers only want to stock loaded SS V8 models anyway and that doesn't help the situation. So much for bang for the buck.
If you want a mid level, then make it the RS and make the performance truely mid level. Don't devalue the Z28 just to justify a $3500 add on package, 90% of which should be on the Z28 anyay.

THANK YOU!!!!!
Cowl induction, and some sort of functional hood vents that don't detract too much (ala the ones on the late 80's-early 90's GTA's). Way back when, when I had my 280ZX, those things cooled the engine off way quicker. Nice when you want to work on it.

I agree with WERM. Functional scoops or none at all.

You gotta figure that GM's logic was: "Outsource SLP to add the hood, the wheels & tires, and tweak the suspension and add $3500 to the price and make some extra profit"...
BUT, the way you are explaining it, and frankly, it makes a hell of a lot of sense, is that by adding the $3500 SS package, GM basically took a LOT of people who would have wanted a Z28, and now made them want an SS instead, but couldn't afford that extra $60 or so per month, and therefore didn't even buy the Camaro!
Verrrrrry interesting theory.

"SS" does devalue Z28. Good point WERM!
