LT1 Oil Level Sensor connector help?

On my 97 Z28 I want to put a fire sock or what ever you call it on the wires because that aluminum foil tape is gone and I don't want the wires to melt.
Do the wires come out of the connector?
I can't seam to figure how they come out and I don't want to break it.
I don't want to cut them.
Thanks,

You have to reach down into the connector and release it. A small screwdriver can usually get in to do it.

Is that from the plug side or the back side where the wires come in to the connector?

It's a regular, old connector, you just have to reach in there to unclick it from the opposite direction as you normally would.

I think his question was how do the wires pull out of the metripack plug, not how they unplug from the sensor. Unfortunately, I don't know, but trying to help clarify.

Yes thats what I'm trying to do.
I need to take the wires out because the fire sleeve is to small to fit over the connector.

You'll have to use a tool to remove the pins from the connector. I think eficonnection.com has some.

Sorry about being on the wrong track.

no problem.
They have some tools their but I have know idea what one would work on that connector.
And there not cheap either 30 bucks.
I can buy three of the pigtails for that.
I'm going to try to find the pigtail on one of my junk harness's and see how it comes apart.
I have found that most of the connectors will come apart with out the tools just might take a little more time.
And of coarse if you have know idea how they come apart they take longer.
